#5 through #28 (every other summer movie) $3m

Summer, according to Hollywood, lasts from May 1 until Labor Day. For movie studios, the season tends to be high beta — a time of both extreme successes and costly failures. The five highest-grossing movies in the U.S. and Canada last summer accounted for about 41 percent of the entire season’s box office, says Paul Dergarabedian, president of Hollywood.com’s Box Office division.
